Yes,I had almost begun to believe it!!It was time the words 'miracle' and 'surprise' be taken out of the English dictionary,they had already gone out of my life.And yes,I wanted to talk urgently to Mr. God as miracles and wonders and stuff were apparently all his forte.It happened in his world,so either he showed me his world or he showed me some miracles!And Mr.God did respond,for he did bring in a miracle in this rather monotonous life of mine,which survives on such miracles as this one,oh wait,I think this one deserves capitals,because it was a MIRACLE!!!
Okay,rewind to two days back.FOC starts in SIMC in full swing and there's excitement and energy everywhere.A much needed break from regular academics I must say!And I am here in the auditorium,enjoying the processions of the fest.My phone renders the amazing 'Laser Dance' soundtrack from Ocean's 12 which is my ringtone as it shows,"Shikha calling".A smile appears on my face.Yeah,Shikha is my best friend!!My bestest friend actually!!You know,there are those people in your life who many a times go beyond being a mere friend and do something or say something that elevates them to an altogether different level.She is one of them!We go back quite some way back,and a rather interesting one at that!!I mean,it's not everyday that you find someone you bond with amazingly via a Facebook page,or through text messages and much,much later phone calls.You don't feel like you have known the person a long time before,being pleasantly amazed at the number of things you both have in common,how comfortable and frank and true you are while talking and you certainly don't come close emotionally when you have had mere glimpses of each other in your first meeting where you only exchange a hello,your name and your city and yes, that is the only meeting,if you can still call it that,between you both and you have no freaking clue what it is about to usher in ahead!So that's some background for you guys!Alright,so she calls and I utter the happy 'Hi' I always do to her which she reciprocates.We begin our talk and the central topic is this 'plan' she had made for someone on Valentines.She had promised me that if the plan was successful I would be the first person to know of it,and...her plan was successful!So the plan was gonna be out now!The girl's for sure got a guy in her life,that must have been her plan.Some proposal which easily must have been accepted considering Shikha's personality.As I am thinking of all this,she says,"Ah!Nothing much!Just that I am in SIMC,Lavale campus right now."WHAT???!!!Hows that for a plan!!!!I couldn't believe what I just heard!"Tu kaha hai?Mai canteen me hu",she continues.I only have patience enough to utter f**k in a disgracefully loud manner.I switched off the phone and ran outside towards the canteen.I had to see this!And see I did,Ms. Shikha Sharma herself stood in right in front of me with the awesomest smile on her face.I broadly smiled back,we hugged and I was overwhelmed!How?When?Really?A lot of questions were about to unleash themselves,which she did answer.Her college was gonna participate in FOC and so she came along with some friends of her, just to meet me!!And could the timing be any more perfect!!I am sans any work,she is too,it's a year,almost exactly a year since we first saw each other and....the venue!!It was the same where we first saw each other!!Yes,I forgot to mention that we first met a year ago,when I came here for my GE/PI and so had she,Later she didn't make it while I did.I always asked her to keep on rechecking her mail,there must be some scope that she has made it,come on!!But it wasn't meant to be.But today,today was sure as hell meant to be!!
Time after that just swayed and flowed!!As amazingly as it ever could!I introduced her to my friends,we walked all around the campus,reliving each moment a year back and revisiting the place we first met each other and of course,our long and endless conversations were not gonna go anywhere.There was nostalgia,a happy nostalgia!I still couldn't believe she was here!Who would call this only the second time we were meeting?It was like we had lived in the same campus all this time!The mess food,the studios,the helipad,the computer lab,the psychometric test,SO-6(our class) and the canteen,whoa,did I just go a whole year back??
But as all amazing things have to come to an end,she left the day after,not originally her plan but some unfortunate circumstances resulted in it.But this time,her departure was more proper considering the last time when we didn't bid each other farewell,I guess it was purposely intended so that it could be done properly this time!!Her departure,although saddening brought before it lots of optimism,energy and dollops of hope for me!!I was not thinking about her going,I was thinking about her coming like she did and what change it has brought in me,all in a matter of a day!!She left leaving me heartily content,happy up to the brim and charged up,100%!!So much that I literally walked back from the bus stop at Sangamwadi to the SB road stop in an hour,without breaking into a sweat!!!
